The
following are a few samples of conservation work that AJ Valente has
provided. Mr. Valente knows 19th century papers better than
anyone. He has been working as a private
restorer for
fifteen years, only now
bringing these services to the
public.
AJ created
a method of safely rejuvenating paper without immersion. On
rare
occasions a piece may have
sustained severe discoloration in spots, known as foxing.
Previously, this condition could not be
fully cleaned without damage to the paper. Foxing
is one area where some important
discoveries have been made and AJ
is always researching new
techniques, testing them fully before recommending to
customers.
